Site Preparation

Expert System for Site Preparation and Vegetation Management
in Southern Interior British Columbia

The Expert System is a tool to assist you to select appropriate site preparation and brushing treatments during the preparation of silvicultural prescriptions.

Based on site-specific information you enter (i.e such as information recorded on FS39A), the Expert System will predict the vegetation community that will develop following disturbance, and evaluate the potential effectiveness of site preparation and brushing treatments.

Note: The Expert System has now been updated to include the Cariboo ecosystems. We have tested the new system, but if you encounter problems please use the built in error reporting feature of the system. We will respond to all error messages and user inquiries quickly. Thanks! The Expert System is partly based on long-term results from the PROBE program. Please see the new PROBE website for more information.
